My journey into rescue began with a one pound fluff ball. While working one of my first jobs in my hometown, a guinea pig was surrendered from a hoarding situation. Her outlook was grim and several vets said she wouldn’t live more than a few months.

The begging began at 8 years old. My kid brother and I pleaded with our parents to get a dog for months. They had both grown up with dogs and had many throughout their lives so it wasn't as if they weren't against the idea.

I am pretty sure that on Sunday, March 27, 2022 I was saved; this is the day I met Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. I wanted to make friends and love animals so I thought, “Why not go spend the day with a dog and help them find their forever home?".

I have loved animals, dogs specifically for as long as I can remember. I begged my parents for a dog, every time we walked past an adoption event, I wanted to rescue all the dogs. We had pets growing up and they were such a huge part of my life.

From a young age, my family have always enjoyed companionship of rescue German Shepherds. Growing up in a household where four-legged friends were not just pets but cherished family members, I loved coming home from school to cuddle up with our dogs.

If you had told me 2.5 years ago that I would have 40 cats cycle through my 600 sq. feet apartment in the next 2.5 years, I would have said you were absolutely out of your mind. Not because I didn't like cats ... I thought cats were fine ... sometimes.
