Dr. Adrienne Van Vlake
Dr. Adrienne Van Vlake is the lead veterinarian at the South Carolina Rescue Campus. A Clemson University alumni, she received her DVM from Mississippi State University in 2009. She returned home to South Carolina and spent 13 years working in private practice, treating a variety of animals large and small. In 2020, she started seeing patients for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and quickly fell in love with shelter medicine. Ready for a change, Dr. Van Vlake left private practice in the fall of 2022 and joined Lucky Dog full-time in preparation for the opening of the Rescue Campus in 2023.
Dr. Van Vlake manages all the medical needs of the animals on the Rescue Campus and ensures that Lucky Dog stays current on best shelter medicine practices. Her favorite work days are spent in the operating room, doing high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter.
Outside of work, Dr. Van Vlake enjoys riding her mare "Rosa" in cow-horse events, camping, and saltwater fishing, but her favorite place to be is home on her cattle farm with her husband and their two sons.
