What:
Spring is the season of renewal and rebirth, but it’s also the start of puppy and kitten season – proof there can be too much of a cute thing. This time of year, puppies and kittens flood into overcrowded and under-resourced shelters, shelters that then turn to Lucky Dog to save these vulnerable lives.
The rapid rise in the number of at-risk puppies and kittens needing support is overwhelming, and that is why Lucky Dog is hosting this shower: to solicit the support of the community. Community members can not only see adorable puppies and kittens, but can also learn how they can help save lives.
Attendees can bring gifts, shop our wish lists on Amazon or Chewy, get puppy kisses, kitten purrs, and learn how fostering can be a lifeline to puppies & kittens in need.
Who:
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue
As a dedicated volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are committed to rescuing homeless and at-risk dogs and cats and supporting pet parents to keep families together. Our foster-based program in the Washington, DC metro provides a safe and nurturing environment until our dogs and cats find their forever homes, and our one-of-a-kind rescue campus in South Carolina ensures pets receive the medical care they need before entering our foster program. With no state or federal funding, 100% of our lifesaving work depends on the generosity of friends and supporters. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, X, Blusky, Threads, LinkedIn, & TikTok to be part of the lifesaving work we lead every day. Learn more about Lucky Dog Animal Rescue at luckydoganimalrescue.org.
Why: Puppy and kitten season is a time when the need for fosters and donors peaks, as unplanned litters inundate shelters. Even those who can’t attend in person can make a direct, life-saving impact on at-risk puppies and kittens. Whether donating supplies from our on Amazon or Chewy wish lists, donating lifesaving funds, signing up to foster, or spreading the word about puppies and kittens in need, (and the importance of spay/neuter!) every act of support saves lives.
