Kiersten Hartfield
Kiersten Hartfield grew up in Johnsonville, SC, where she still lives surrounded by her three beloved cats — Buttercup, Strudel, and Peep. Drawn to animal rescue by the countless strays that would appear in her yard, Kiersten’s passion for helping animals has been a guiding force in her life. When asked what she loves about cats, her answer is simple: “Everything.”
Kiersten recently graduated from Francis Marion University with a degree in Biology, completing the pre-vet program and earning membership in three honor societies: Gamma Sigma Epsilon, Beta Beta Beta, and Phi Kappa Phi. Before joining Lucky Dog as a Veterinary Technician, she was a longtime volunteer, always stepping up to help wherever needed — from paperwork at vaccine clinics to supporting our animals behind the scenes.
Looking ahead, Kiersten hopes to attend Clemson University’s new veterinary medicine program and is excited to submit her application as soon as admissions open.
At Lucky Dog, Kiersten combines her scientific knowledge, dedication, and love of animals to provide compassionate care to every dog and cat that comes through our doors, helping them heal, thrive, and find their forever homes.
