When Mr. and Mrs. Grant Verstandig agreed to sponsor a relief flight from Puerto Rico to save 62 dogs and cats with no local adoption options, Lucky Dog had 3 days to pull a flight together!

This Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue evacuated more than 50 Lucky Dogs and Cats from the path of Hurricane Florence. After the van's alternator failed, the rescue community took time out of their own hurricane preparations to save our Lucky Dogs and Cats.
Lucky Dog Flies Over 60 Rescue Dogs And Cats From Puerto Rico To DC In Partnership With SouthWest Airlines!
This Saturday, January 20th, 2018, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and Southwest® delivered more than 14,000 lbs. of humanitarian supplies to animal rescuers in Puerto Rico and returned to the DC area with more than 60 dogs and cats who survived Hurricane Maria. This is in addition to the more than 10,500 lbs.
